For everyone with an interest in vibrations, no matter branch or technology
The Scandinavian Vibration Society, SVIB, is the largest organization of experts in the field of vibrations in Scandinavia. The association has members in all of Scandinavia, with the largest concentration in Sweden.
The purpose of SVIB is to promote knowledge, share information and offer networking within the field of vibration.
The activities of SVIB are managed by a board elected by the members of the association.
The SVIB Vibrations Days are organized annually in conjunction with the annual board meeting.
The SVIB Vibration Days give the members the opportunity to meet and learn about news in the field.
SVIB Nytt is the member magazine, where members are informed about recent projects in the field, research and development as well as education.
The Board appoints working committees, responsible primarily for arranging seminars, but also other tasks, e.g. composing a new issue of the member magazine SVIB Nytt.
The committee positions are the following, though not all of them are currently occupied:
- Vibration measurement and analysis
- Vehicle and machine vibration
- Traffic, ground and building vibrations
- Physiological effect of vibrations
- Research and education in the field of vibration
